The historic “Tablao de Carmen” is located inside the Spanish Village (Poble Espanyol) and is known as one of the best public flamenco shows in the city. The venue pays tribute to the great dancer Carmen Amaya, a key figure in the history of flamenco. Carmen Amaya, Gypsy and Catalan, made her debut in 1929 in front of King Alfonso XIII, on the grounds now occupied by Tablao de Carmen. The ‘’Tablao de Carmen’’, in its many years in existence, has always been characterized by offering a great quality show, direct heir to the purest of traditions. The show presents several of the most important styles or beats of flamenco so that the spectator can get to know the wealth and variety of this art. With the same objective, the show also alternates the protagonist of its different expressions: the music, the singing and the dancing.
First of all, you will be able to experience a tasty tapas dinner, and when the coffee is already served, the highlight of the evening will start: the whirling Flamenco show will demonstrate during 60 minutes all you have to see of this important cultural heritage from the gypsies of the 17th and 18th century!
